Has anyone out there got/used a Sony Ericsson K800i? I'm most interested in the text messaging system for it (and if you can use a computer to send texts through it via usb)
My new phone, a Samsung D900 Chrome, is driving me nuts - the UI was designed by monkeys.
Example. To send a text message - choose message, choose send text message, choose okay, enter message, choose send, choose by text, choose contacts, select contact, check contact, check okay, confirm, check send again.
Bloomin' hell, with my old motorola that took about 4 selections at most, and my nokia took about three. Bleh.

Date: 2007-04-02 09:46 am (UTC)To send a text - press "joystick" center button 4 times (the default actions are: menu, messaging, write new, text), enter message, press continue button then either press center button for contacts look up (alphabetical) or use "joystick" to scroll down latest used numbers. Press center button again. Basically Sony have thought about what you'd usually do in most situations and put that as the default centre button.
Not bothered with messaging shortcut because it's so simple anyway.
Note joystick is in quotes because it's really 5 buttons - up/down/left/right/centre - not a joystick at all, but it kinda looks like one.
Oh and the fact it has a radio and can play mp3s and has a 2mb camera with (digital) zoom (and a light and macro setting and video camera) and has buttons big enough for me to get my pudgy fingers on, swayed it for me ;)
PS it can also run Opera and a Googlemail ap, though I guess any Java phone can these days.
(That'll be £50 please Sony, thanks)
