Whilst exhibt B, Charlie the Chipmunk has much smaller, ill-defined and 'uncool' stripes, curved even, which would surely make him spin madly on the spot.
So what you need is a badger's head on a chipmunk's body. The larger size of the head would overcome the rotational tendencies of the smaller body, while the body would provide angular momentum and enable directional adjustments.
