My companies canteen has started selling Caramacs joyous sugary bliss!
However they have stopped selling Curly Wurlys, dammit. Someday, somehow I will do a pimp my snack and make myself a four foot long Curley wurley that is a half foot wide, oh yes - It would only take about 24 bars all melted together...

Sugar is nostalgia; I remember the snacks of my youth, the much lamented loss of Snaps crisps with the little dragon on the front which we used to buy from Ms. Moss's shop, an eccentric ten thousand year old granny who ran a sweet shop in our village for the hell of it as much as anything else, as far as I could tell. She didn't seem to like kids at all, must have been some kind of bizarre masochistic thing.
But the door had a bell on it.

But most lamented of all, for me, are pacers this tiny little description on Wiki barely does them justice; all the consistency of Opal Fruits (Starburst mutter mutter mutter) with the delicious squishy mintness of, um, mint. The adverts were bizarre too, people wearing white cycling, driving and walking around suddenly becoming covered in green stripes to a "Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!" noise.

Ah, memories.

Good grief, Caramacs! I used to love those! The most nostalgic sweet my work sells is Boost, which has good things from every chocolate bar, except in one bar, which is rather nice.

I bet you remember not only when Starburst were Opal Fruit, but when Snickers was Marathon... ;)

Boosts are dangerous! I once ate one that had garana in it and it made me Hallucinate.

There is no snickers! There is only sparta! MARATHON!!!!!

Texan bars.

When a man's gotta chew, a man's gotta chew.

How cool were they?

You know all those snacks you used to love as a kid? Most of them are still available, just not in shops you visit very often.

They're also available wholesale from Booker. I've landed boxes of Swizzels Fizzers and Fruit Salad on the shelves behind my desk in the office before now to critical acclaim from work colleagues. (-8

I tend to pop along on the first Monday or Thursday of each month (the evenings they open late), if you're interested in anything?

But… um… surely Curly Wurlies aren't the right thing to make a giant Curly Wurly from? Wouldn't it be simpler to get a bunch of chocolate-coated caramel bars with the right cross section and "weld" them together?

Oooo, where is this booker place? Sounds like it's due a visit!

Hmmmm, you're right on the curly wurlies, I think that about 100 chomps should do it....

It's behind the Toyota dealership, just off Coldham's Lane opposite the airport.

But it's a trade wholesaler and you need to be a legitimate company and have a membership card to get in. I have a membership card (*cough*).
