After the glorious weather on Monday the full joys of spring and summer began to remind me that they existed. For me one of the great things about winter is the (relative) lack of bugs, insects and other horrible crawly things. Evil bug eyed little alien creatures that just want to take our iPods and rule the world from the back of a giant fruit I tell you.

Which made me wonder about this...

Unfortunately, bugs do lots of useful things - pollination, biodegrading etc. You can't really say 'other things will fill their place', because they won't.

True; but it's an entirely hypothetical question - the other things to replace them may not actually exist, it's just if you wish you could push that button and just remove all the crawly beasties without anything going wrong.

But if you eradicated all of them you'd also lose nice things like ladybirds and butterflies.

Not nice to me I'm afraid. They look nice, but when you get close... ~shiver~

I ticked NO because the phrase ' other things will fill their place' gives me the fear.
Better the bugs you know.
