[livejournal.com profile] ghoti gave me a word; and it was 'bird'. The fiend.

From this word I had to find 5 songs I have; not very easy, but...

Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Mockingbird Girl - The magnificent bastards
Three litle birdies down beats - The chemical brothers
Bird - Dead can dance
Thirty Dirty Birds - Red Hot Chili Peppers

If you want a word, just ask.

Please Be Cruel - Inspiral Carpets
and my personal favourite:
Please Mr Gravedigger - David Bowie

I could also have had:
Please Please Me - The Beatles

Easy To Please - Coldplay
Apocalyse Please - Muse
Baby Please Don't Go - AC/DC.

Voila!

Rah, Mr Bowie, indeed.

Just for you, for a limited time only, I've made an icon of you arriving on Watergate Beach - how us girls laughed - you and Paul turning up all in black with big boots and long hair, and us all shouting "SPOT THE GOFFS!"

Thank you Dr. Penguin.

There's quite a few to choose from, swords and death in general being popular subjects for heavy metal:
  • Die By The Sword (Slayer)

  • The Chronicle Of The Black Sword (Hawkwind)

  • Wield My Sword (Yngwie Malmsteen)

  • The Power Of Thy Sword (Manowar)

  • I Am The Sword (Motörhead)
Tobykenobi in no way endorses the listening to heavy metal, or the above groups, even though he might have a few of their CDs lying around, I never listen to them, honest guv.

It was trickier to find 5 non-heavy metal entries, but I present:
  • The Sword of Damocles (Richard O'Brien - The Rocky Horror Picture Show)

  • Broadsword (Jethro Tull)

  • Sword Of Orion (Vangelis)

  • The Sword in the Stone (Richard Sherman - Disney's animation of the same name)

  • Guide My Sword (Mark Knopfler - The Princess Bride)

And I have to mention "Sword", a Canadian band from the 80's and "The Sword" from Texas!

:)
