Never again.
Jun. 13th, 2006 09:18 amOr not until the next time anyway. Ahem.
Which is, by way of explanation, my D&D online subscription ending (after a payment last month I didn't mean to make - grumble).
I have a love/hate relationship with online games; I have discovered I have little or no willpower whatsoever for stopping them intruding on my real life, which is a bad thing. When you wake up at 4 am on Wednesday morning because you brain is screaming "Skill change" for EVE this is not a good thing.
However, given my internal alarm clock it will only be a little bit out. I have discovered, through the years, that I can wake up pretty much when I want to - if I want to. I just need to want to wake up then - that's the tricky bit. Because frankly waking up at any time before 7 on a Saturday is not going to happen, I need a reason for my brain to wake me up. And MOORG's were annoyingly proving to be it.
All this roundabout wibbling leaves me to wonder; internal clocks - is yours any good, or do you need some new batteries?

Date: 2006-06-13 09:10 am (UTC)Even when both my alarm and Vicky's failed, we were still up only half an hour later than normal.
The downside to this is when you've got a day off work, waking up at 6:25 is no fun. :o)
And I've deliberately avoided MMORPGs because I know I'd lose my life to them. :o)

My internal clock has problems, I think maybe someone dropped some cheese in it. It wakes me up at random points in the night (hiya 4am!) or not at all. Usually it wakes me around the right time then goes "No! you must sleep again silly human!" and I have to wait for the 'oh hey, I have to leave in 3 minutes' adrenaline to move me from bed.

Date: 2006-06-13 10:34 am (UTC)My internal alarm clock is spot on and has never failed me. Though it doesn't have a snooze function, if I don't get up when I first wake up, then when I re-awaken will be random. :/ Very rarely an issue though as my internal alarm wakes me up 15 minutes before I need to get up, so I always just... get up. :)

Date: 2006-06-13 02:46 pm (UTC)Unfortunately I only really need to get up at 8 to 8.30 every day, so I go back to sleep.
Then I wake up at 9 or even later, and feel far more tired than I did at 7.
I'm going to try and just get up at 7am and see if I can do it for an extended duration of time, and merely do stuff in the morning before it is too hot to do anything. By "i'm going" I mean, like, next year or something.

Date: 2006-06-13 06:21 pm (UTC)Which also brings me in a roundablout way to internal clocks. Mine is quite good and will wake me up usually on or before I need to get up. Sometimes it's even better than I think it is and has been known to wake me up and make sure I don't go back to sleep for things I've completely forgotten about until I get up and eventually check emails.
