Coding trivia
Nov. 6th, 2001 03:07 pmHow much storage space do you think a CString object (a collection of characters, words, etc) in MFC can hold, roughly?
a) 1 k (=1024 characters = 2^10)
b) 10 k
c) 64 k (The usual addressable size of a intel based memory block)
d) 128 k
e) 1 meg (=1024 k)
f) 1 gig (=1024 meg)
First correct guess (one guess each!) gets a prize

Date: 2001-11-06 07:34 am (UTC)Yep, It's INT_MAX bytes, which is 2147483647 byes, = 2097151 k = 2047 meg = around 2 gig = answer f, closer than the others
Which is handy as I expected it to only be 64k and I needed a huge buffer for storing an INI file
The prize is a drink or a Kendal Mint Cake, your choice
