It was in those faraway days before children and we were travelling on the East Coast in our Cadillac and stopped off at Fort Lee on the outskirts of Richmond. We booked inot our room and made our way to the Officers' Club with the intention of having a quick drink, before eating in the restaurant. Our plans changed when we sort of got sucked into the retirement drinks of an utterly charming Colonel. The evening descended into an alcoholic haze that included Kate selling various people the newly introduced £1 coins for about $10 each! And me demonstrating how easy it was to "fish" beers out of a locked bar with a pool cue and a few other pieces of equipment. The party broke up in the early hours and we realised we were famished. There was no kebab van on hand and so we joined the Col in his taxi when he announced he was heading into Richmond where we'd been told we could get some food. On the way he said that he was heading to his favorite brothel to make a few more goodbyes and suggested that we joined him for more drinks and food. We politely declined, picked up some food and taxied back to our room. I don't think we'd make the same decision now!

Is this wise the day before your eye op? What about dehydration/pressure changes your eyes will undergo whilst travelling?. You should ask the clinic maybe?

I just called them and they said it's fine; regardless they check my eyes health and give me a full checkup before it anyway.
