Dec. 15th, 2004 04:51 pmWe have the technology, I can hopefully build it...
Athlon 64 3500+ CPU ** PIB with fan **
Asus A8V Deluxe Athlon 64 Mainboard (no pci-e - boo!)
128mb ATI Radeon 9800 PRO AGP
512Mb 184 Pin PC3200 DDR Ram (400)
512Mb 184 Pin PC3200 DDR Ram (400)
160Gb Serial ATA 7200RPM 8Mb Cache HD
NEC ND3500 16x DVD/4X Dual Layer Recorder
LGS 16x DVDRom 52x CD Re-Writer EIDE OEM
Quality ATX 400 Watt PSU CE Approved
Floppy drive
And maybe...
Pending on board sound quality, or I may just transfer my 3D card instead.
Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit PCI (OEM)
Seems okay to me, more than I wanted to spend... still; not had a new machine in ages

Date: 2004-12-15 05:14 pm (UTC)With the exception of the sound card and the CD-RW, I've priced that lot up at £598.84. Is that better or worse than what you've got for it?

Date: 2004-12-15 06:12 pm (UTC)We usually mark it up by a third, but I could probably wangle it at trade price if you wanted me to look into it. I'm not sure how their shipping upscales to elsewhere around the country, though.

But that appears to be it (and it is Gigabyte, yawn), although there seem to be a bazillion nForce4 SLI motherboards arriving on most websites, suggesting they'll be in stock soon (one Asus SLI board is listed as being in stock on Monday).
Shame your computer didn't die a fortnight later, really...
