vyvyan; where I consumed more vodka than was likely advisable, chatted and lost my round at You don't know Jack (as apparently I don't, despite my attempts to screw over my opposition) and had a good ol' game of "I have never" which is also very enjoyable.

To be honest, that just puts me off. I (and very few other continentals I know) don't understand how you can consider extremely soft furniture as comfortable...

Date: 2004-11-15 11:08 am (UTC)I think the sofas, like bread, must be a cultural thing. When I sit down I want something with a reasonable amount of give that I can half-sink into. Thats my sort of sofa. Like I prefer soft bread to hard.
However given this comparitive ratio this would mean German sofas are made from granite, which I somehow doubt.
The icon itself contains all the speed infomation for frame transition, the browser itself is meant to translate this; it may be relative to the amount of information available/etc that it doesn't get rendered as fast or gets rendered faster in certain screens; or it could even be LJ's fault somehow. I haven't changed that icon in years.
