Oct. 20th, 2004 11:58 amTasks taken to thought in a dreamlight blur of motion
Cast aside the ideas float, sailing on rolling waves of time
The last sail fades over the horizon and the sun sets
Night harbours the darkest desires, so they say
The morning brings respite and wonder
Hark back to the memory of before and wonder
Did dreams cloud my thoughts when I was there before
Was I who I was before?
Can I change the sky and stars for you?
Will the world unfold in my path as I tred
Yet even as I walk, the cloud fall in line
row upon row of shapes and whispers
Begging my mind to make them real
Past the obscurity of what they were
into the skylined curls and wisps of fantasy
Made real for a moment they live in my eyes
The trees murmur their approval
Waving lazy boughs to catch my eyes
Faint scents of raindrops fall slowly to the ground
A moment caught in memory that passes
lost to another days passing, autumn calls
Sonnet for the lark, a fairytale of wings and feather
can the branches feel your call to the air?
Does the sky call you higher each time you fly
Tempting you higher to see if you can touch the clouds
and fly between their sultry promised comfort
Hard edges peer around their corners, a hint of storms and fire
rain slices through the air
a thousand drums beating on the leafy limbs
of trees lost in the mists as the evening sinks its weary head
to night and darkness come once more
