I'm just listening to Dancing in the street and memories of live aid and the video are flooding back... but the question for today is...

What song has the greatest duet of two seemingly unrelated artists ever?

Damn - I was going to say that. And truly terrible it is too.

There's always Fairytale of New York and that actually works.

Motorhead and Samantha Fox, anyone?

I didn't make the record. I've only heard about it.

Altered Images and John Peel? Bill Clinton and Vaclav Havel?

Actually, I don't know if the latter was released, but a recording certainly existed. Mind you, apparently Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi sand Elvis songs with Tom Cruise when they met.

It's just a shame that Sylvio Berlusconi chose to make his album with a complete unknown. If only it had been, say, David Hasselhof . . .

Having said which, who exactly has David Hasselhof colaborated with? And Captain Kirk making a record with Ben Folds and Joe Jackson is fairly odd.

Or there's the version of Sweet Home Alabama by the Leningrad Cowboys and the Red Army Chorus.

Actually, he's topped that.

Hunklehoff's latest offering is a collaboration with Ice T. I kid you not. Ask Baz, he's probably got it on order from Amazon.de :-)

There's some debate over whether that was a joke or not. I'll believe it when I see it. I do hope that it's true, though.

Now, there was something else I had to say to you too . . .

And a liar. It was Hawkwind and Samantha Fox. I was, of course, thinking of the fantastic version of Stand By Your Man recorded by Motorhead and Wendy O Williams.
