Funny how secrets travel...
Oct. 1st, 2004 03:29 amAfter watching Lost Highway last night I've had to order the soundtrack, even thought I have it on mp3 it's just nicer... having it as a shiny shiny thing to have and to hold, to pet and to keep and call George.
Ahem.
That plus I have David Bowies song "I'm deranged" stuck in my head and I had to do something to get rid of it or at least mitigate it's assault on my mind, ahhhhh.
That seems enough justification for a
Of all the bands/artists in your cd/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by?
The Red Hot Chili Peppers, closely followed by Pink Floyd.
What was the last song you listened to (voluntarily)?
Erm, I have no idea what it was called, but it was off the "Global Psychedelic Chill Out" album. The last song I remember conciously putting on to listen to was "Blush response" by Vangellis.
What's on your record player right now?
You know, I don't actually have any music systems, as such, left in my house. All my music is now stored on my PC the closest I have to a CD player is my DVD player.
But for a music system I have a Pepe the Prawn muppets character on my music PC. :)
What song would you say sums you up?
Erm, get back to you on that one.
What's your favorite local band?
Rome Burns, they rocketh.
What was the last show you attended?
Bliemy, quite a while now... The Duran Duran gig I believe :)
What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
Either Suzanne Vega or Air, both playing at Cambridge Corn Exchange.
What's the shittiest band you've ever seen in concert?
Chicks on speed who were booed off when they were supporting the Chili Peppers, really, really bad.
What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
Not really.
What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
To my mind the most musically involved I get is when I'm dancing.
What show are you looking forward to?
Just have the one at the moment, the Prodigy in Decemeber.
What is your favorite band shirt?
I only have two, and I think I've lost my '101 damnations' one, so that would make it my Chili Peppers shirt.
What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
David Bowie, the man, the myth.
What musician would you like to hump for a day?
Not actually sure... I don't get fanstruck very much like that. Maybe Shirley Manson (Garbage) or the violinist from the Cruxshadows, certainly if I get the cyber dancers as a bonus with her :)
Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
Ozzy solo.
Commodores or solo Lionel Richie?
Commodores.
What was the greatest decade for music?
The 80's. Come on, you expect me to say anything else? Although the very early 90's had some good stuff.
How many music-related videos/dvds do you own?
If you include audiovisual videos as well, erm... 10 or so.
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Bladerunner - Vangelis - no contest.
What's the crappiest CD/record/etc you've ever bought?
I can't remember any major mistakes that I've bought.
Do you prefer vinyl or CDs?
CDs, they're easier to burn to mp3 :)
All totalled, how much do you spend on music in a month?
Between 20 and 100 quid I suppose.
Tum te tum... roll on the weekend!
Ahem.

Date: 2004-10-01 10:49 am (UTC)The story begins...
Date: 2004-10-01 10:54 am (UTC)...someone (or possibly me) bought me a toy penguin. Lo! I had a single toy penguin and it was fluffy and squishy and, well, penguin shaped.
And my friends did note that I had a toy penguin and they said "Aha, I bet he'd like another." and so, the penguins began to roll in...
and in...
and in...
And all sorts of penguin stuff was accumulated, which is great because penguins are fab and amusing beasties which have been psycologically been proven it is good for you to watch them (no kidding!).
And now I have well over 150 toy penguins, books, pens, lamps, cookie jars and suchlike :)
Thus, the penguins - this all happened well before linux decided that tux was their mascot.

Date: 2004-10-04 04:35 pm (UTC)Actually, I was extremely suprised to hear This Mortal Coil's Song of the Siren featuring highly. I've never come across it anywhere other than on my CD and it's quite simply delectable. Not so sure about the Rammstein though : D
Can someone please explain the plot to me?!
