If he drives to Cambridge, could the two of you get to London together? I'm not real keen on the idea of him driving through London at night alone.

Sure; I'm basically having a weekend down in London; the plan is drive down Friday evening, mooch Saturday and go to concert, shop in Camden Sunday and come back Sunday evening.

That's not going to work for us. A concert on Saturday night is one thing, but the whole weekend is something else. Will the trains be running late enough for him to drive as far as Redbridge and take the trains in and out?
