Creativity

Do you write, well I mean everyone writes, but do you write creatively; prose, stories, poems or anything. If so... why? Why do you let other people see what you've created?

Me? I have these thoughts or moments that pass though my mind, sometimes seldom lasting more than a second, sometimes a minute or two. And I feel I have to capture them and either write what they brought with them or what they inspired.
But thats why I create, but why I publish, so to speak. Perhaps the initial question was ill-defined.
I publish because I enjoy my creativity, I want to nurture it and share it, I want people to read what I've done and perhaps catch the moments or be transported away into the scenes and ideas I've created as well. I like sharing these thoughts.

I write because I want to, and it's fun, and when I write good stuff I show it to other people in the hope that they'll enjoy it too.

Accusations of smug self-aggrandisement are, as usual, entirely founded.

I sometimes let other people see what I've written because it gives me more of a focus when I write. I find that when I write for what I perceive to be an audience, I write in a more upbeat, less depressive way. If I write without the intention to let people see it, I find that I either write complete nonsense or fill my writing with whiny self-indulgent despair. I prefer reading the stuff that I have written that I let other people read than the stuff that I don't let anyone else read. So, if I let other people see what I've created, it's more likely that I'll want to read it again also.

The problem is actually finishing something.

And the middle part, that's tough too.

As for the intro para, that's a real toughy.

i write because it helps me to express my feelings. what i write is not always important - even when i write something that doesn't match exactly what i feel, it helps me to regain some kind of balance.
i share what i write, i publish what i write, because i want to make other people feel, too. if something that i've put 'on paper' (so to speak) touches someone else, for any reason at all, then i've done something i'm proud of. regardless of whether or not people understand me through my poetry, perhaps my poetry can help them to understand themselves a little better.

it also helps to keep me from becoming a homocidal maniak. :)
