Both media jukebox and realplayer are narking me off bigtime; I need another jukebox type system to organise my MP3's (and preferably rip cd's to) anyone have any suggestions, it'd be running on my old 98 box.

Winamp's latest version has started including nice playlist/file organisation stuff (and rips CDs, but only to MP3 if you buy the full version). Some people like it, some don't, but it's worth a look...

save yourself space under your cupboard and mod an xbox ;)

Mine is currently running a thing called XBox Media Center (XBMC) with a 200Gig disk in it. build playlists, decent organisation... excellent visualisations. It handles mp3,
he only downside is you need to ftp files to it at the moment, though I gather that they are planning to include the facility to rip as well

For ripping, I've been using something for years called FreeRip, which is freeware from mgshareware.com - works nicely and quickly.

I've been using WinAmp for the last few months, but am finding it a bit slow and bloaty these days, compared to what I remember of previous incarnations.

The newer skins and features can tend to get a bit annoying - I run the latest version but with "old style" skin settings - so basically it just looks like about v2, but has a few nice additions like playing music videos properly.
