I much prefer using obscure and surreal swear words to obscene ones; hitting your thumb with a hammer and shouting "AARDVARKS" at loud volume is much more amusing.
I can totally agree. But then again, I don't naturally come up with normal obscenities these days and it takes effort to try, a bit like lying and littering, I just can't bring myself to do it without exerting more effort than is worth it :)
I find "CABBAGES!", "FROGSPITTLE!" and random heart felt noises of anguish much more comforting.
