Time. It's all moments we're waiting for. Moments that are coming. That sought for mythical period that gets ever closer and then wham. You're tasting it as you live it. Breezing, gone, past. The moment is history and you have to turn your eyes to look forward again to the next moment. Some people can't take their eyes from the past, emotions can chain you to your memories like lead weights around your neck. Burning thoughts and restraints that won't let you free. You're blinkered to the future, "Nothing will be like that again". Nothing will be like any moment you live; each single second of your life is as unique as the next. So just breathe them all in, pause maybe for a second here and there to appreciate what that was, now it's gone. Gone like the past as it all tumbles into a faded history that only memories can cling to. History can mist over and people can reminisce about and distort into increasingly ever wild anecdotes. It wasn't like that in my day... I remember another time... There was this one other...
You're living in the only timeslice that you'll ever be in, the here and now. All else is speculation, possibility and memory.
Fasten seatbelts and flick the safety off.

Wonderful piece of writing - your own, I presume!

Reminds of a little line I picked up from somewhere:

The Past is just History, the Future is a Mystery, but Right Now is a Gift, which is why its called The Present.

Indeed; it's sort of directed freetext, my mind latched onto the word 'time' and started to wander.
