I swear, sometimes I life is like the Sims. Not because of the graphics, the gameplay or the fact just as something interesting is about to happen it's screened off so you can't see it; oh no. This is because everything always seems to turn up at once, like the mystical clock that controls the game ticks to another hour and at that point it checks it's database and settings to lump everything onto you, good and bad. All at once. Then your life becomes a frantic clickfest as you try and organize everything simultaneously in order to ensure you don't loose your job working for the mob, or whoever.

At least life is like that sometimes. Other times it's just waiting, lurking, biding it's time as it reads the paper, peering over the top of it as it shadows you along streets and alleyways. Noting your movements, checking your rubbish, listening in on your conversations and monitoring your thoughts. Then, once you're utterly relaxed, wham! Crisis time. Still beats life being like half life - that would be somewhat fatal for the human race in general.

And another thing. I don't watch TV and after having to listen to Radio 1 when working in the ink lab I don't think I ever want to listen to radio ever again, the 'music' they were playing can't have taken more than 3 minutes (half the runtime of the actual track) to prepare and basically consisted of half a dozen samples, the same old 'ooo woof yeah' quasi-baseline that has been used more times than I even want to know and what can only, very generously, be called singing. A hamster on crack could produce a better tune. If this is music of the next generation then I'm keeping any kids I end up with firmly earplugged.

Because evolution isn't always a good thing; I'm evolving, my ideas are slowly changing, little things here and there are tweaking. Not change, no or development. Previous values are melting into something slightly different. Certain ideals remain, but I have paused and said to myself that something has changed, I've had a little chat about it and yes, agreed with myself. Which is always important.

It all vanishes anyway, like deleted text messages; lost conversation discarded because it's of no use any more, or your brain has run out of room to store it all.

Is anyone except me wondering what happened to Saddam? Or are they, like me, just accepting that his trial will miraculously start just about the time a certain person starts his campaign run for the Whitehouse, surely not.

Our company caterers have discovered our email system and are sending us spam every 30 minutes regarding the latest in culinary delights they have planned for us, at the moment they are working their way past next week - I won't be surprised if they start sending us Christmas specials at this rate. I am also waiting for a message regarding a special on processed pork sandwiches so that I finally have spam about spam.

Many hands make light work.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Proverbs are just ways of berating people whatever they do with the all important backing of the mystic wisdom of old grannies.

I think my grandmother is the only one on the planet who does NOT use proverbs and whatnot to make points...

My life is like The Sims because I talk crap and leave plates on the floor.
