Guy Fawkes night, a day whereby a nation of who love underachievers can celebrate that someone got executed for failing to blow up parliment. It also gives us an excuse to use more explosives in one evening than were used in the gulf war. An interesting sideline here indicates that once effigies of the pope were burnt as well.
Brain in neutral, post Whitby pickup to first gear will get me rambling about random stuff again, sooner or later the floodgates of my mind will open like a giant toastrack in the skies.
As a sideline until then which film would you nominate for 'worst film ever' for me it'll just have to be Highlander II, utterly utterly dire.

Dragonheart. The only film I nearly walked out of in under 15 minutes.

Made worse by the people that thought it was good.

Pushing Tin - the only film I have ever paid good money to see and been compelled to walk out of. Utterly dire and completely unrealistic (and not only am I a pilot, but I went to see it with an air traffic controller who walked out sooner than I did!)

Yeah, I'm in the minority, but I'd vote for American Pie.

For something that was supposed to be funny, it never gave me a single laugh. A couple of smirks and a short "huh," but never a laugh. And I stopped watching in disgust after the internet exploitation scene.

Glad I didn't pay money to see it...nor was it my money that rented it. If it had been, I'd ask for my money back.

I still don't understand why you people choose such a COLD day to do your fireworks. Cold holidays should be for cooking (maybe a Guy Fawkes ham)... and warm holidays (say the Queen's birthday) should be for outdoor things like fireworks. ;)

It's because Guy Fawkes (and associates) tried to destroy the British parliament buildings by using gunpowder. They were discovered and stopped on November the 5th and therefore we (allegedly) celebrate on that date.
