Had a wierd dream last night and one that felt pretty real, which is a nice change - that I had a dream and that it wasn't utterly bizarre as most of mine were.
I was lying in bed and everything was as-normal, except I thought I heard a door downstairs, "Funny" thinks I, and twitch slightly, then a humming noise sounds and it seems to get louder, "Very funny" thinks I, and I at this point realise (of course) that it's an alien of some description coming to get me. The humming noise sounds again, it's at the top of the stairs; My thought at this point is "Feck, my sword is in the other room.", a few moments pass and the door to my bedroom opens to the humming noise, at which point I violently sit suddenly up in bed, waking up, half up and in as best a combat stance I can manage when half-covered by a duvet and expecting an alien being to be walking through my bedroom door.

But what about the alien

Yeah, they can be a bit cowardly, yer average dream Alien. It's the real ones you have to worry about.
Interesting that you described a humming or buzzing noise though.
