Aug. 15th, 2003 01:09 pm1: How many penguins can dance on the head of a pin?
As subatomic levels continue to be reduced and querks and quarks and other such particles are discovered, invented or made up for a laugh I am almost convinced that sooner or later a 'penguin' particle will be discovered, and that as a result of that a huge number of penguins can dance on the head of a pin;
Alternatively, as long as the penguin appears and disappears without interacting with anything all the penguins in existance (or none) can dance on the head of a pin.
2: Do you often quote Blake, or was it just the once?
I quite often quote Bladerunner which is what the quote is a from, a paraphrased version of Blake's;
Fiery the angels rose, and as they rose deep thunder roll'd
Around their shores: indignant burning with the fires of Orc.
I'd always wondered what it was from :)

Snow is great! Unless I'm driving. In which case I loathe it!
4: 5 books for your desert Island. Which do you take?
Hmmm, tough choice....
Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson
Waylander - David Gemmell
Lord of the Rings - J.R.R.Tolkien (for a bulk read)
A Short History of Nearly Everything - Bill Bryson
And a huge general reference book on Philosphy
