May. 28th, 2003 09:23 amI bough some milk this morning, exciting huh? However my conditioned response whilst on semi-autopilot to work was amusing, if worrying.
Assistant: Thats (X) please.
(I hand her (X) and stand waiting)
Pause
Assistant: (X) Thank you.
I nod, wait.
Pause.
Assistant: (X) Thank you.
I blink, realise that my programmed response whereby I should be getting some change at this point isn't going to happen as I actually gave her exact change, then mumble apologies and bimble out.
Excellent, I have managed to program controlled responses in myself.
Woof.
