Lessie, I could ramble on for ages and a variety of detail here about the stuff I did over this weekend, which may well even be interesting for someone - and a footnote for myself so as to remind me what I did, so you know what? I will. So there.

Friday [livejournal.com profile] vyvyan and [livejournal.com profile] razornet popped around for boose, food and films; Dual cooked both veggie (quorn mince) and normal spag-bol, which went down rather well, I was completely stuffed, and brownies and icecream for afters kind of finished me off. But I'm enjoying cooking more, especially baking (the smell of fresh foooood) so glad it went well. We watched Momento and Usual suspects, both good films.

Saturday Was the Camarilla national gamey thingy up in Stoke, for which preparation I had done was basically printed out my character stuff (which I never needed anyway - no challenges thrown - horah!) and then jumped into my car after poo-pooing the route autoroute had decided for me, initial drive was good until the end of the evil M6 at which point traffic jams decided to appear all over the place, arrived in Stoke on trent... make a phonecall and then went to Stoke instead, doh. Found a bouncing [livejournal.com profile] suzerain who showed me where the venue was... decided to do a bit of shopping to discover Stoke is utterly devoid of anything useful for the self respecting impulse buyer, even their market was pap. The C/A game went quite well, I had fun, met loads of great people who I'd not seen in ages - I spent some time brooding and scowling IC and looking around at people - it was good to get some time to try and internalise thoughts of how my character thinks. Interesting. Plus I had some wonderful swirls drawn over my face by [livejournal.com profile] ksirafai which I'd been meaning to do for ages (mental note to self, must buy dark blue eyeshadow). Everything looked quite proffesional, the AGM was interesting, people do need to learn that addressing the chair means just that and waiting your turn doesn't mean shouting out randomly, 'just a quick point' doesn't mean rambling on for 10 minutes... and most importantly that if someone is a proffessionally qualified in a certain field that you take their damn word for what their job is when you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Anyway, big big thanks to everyone who organised this - bug me for a free drink when you see me next - you earned it. The drive home was... fun, I missed the A14 turn and ended up on the M1, a wrong turning later (not my fault!) had us going down the A45, since we couldn't turn around there, then back down the M1, back up again, back onto the M6, up, around and finally down onto the damn A14. Finally got home around 4 am, I think... bleh. But the comfort factor for sleeping in my own bed in my own home was worth it.

Sunday I was... well, basically blotto for most of it, since I didn't wake up late and then scooted over to [livejournal.com profile] grahamb's, (might have to buy me a NIN concert DVD after watching some of his) to [livejournal.com profile] nisaba's fairwell party... chatted to quite a few people and finally got to see Invader Zim... which was very wierd, and was introduced to the cult of DAAS, which is damn strange - but very funny. I pity their audience! Mmmm vodka.

Monday was punting down the cam, with me doing all the work - after initial chaos I got things going and was fairly chuffed with my steering, especially my precision parking at the end of it. Saw fish in the Cam, ate a huge picnic with speciality foods from Italy as one of my friends had just returned from holiday there that very morning. Bimbled to the funfair and had a go on the waltzer (great fun!) dodgems (yay) ghost house (utterly crap) and air hockey - which I lost! Dammit! Playing straight after the waltzer ride was probably a bad idea... curses. Then home for Time Bandits chatting and some Italian chocs, burp. With some final bimbling on IRC to random people.
Cracking weekend Grommit.
