Chilled, definately chilled. Had a nice relaxing evening with a fine friend watching Monsters Inc (finally) which was a lot better than I expected it to be, had me laughing and sniffling at various points through it, good film. We also watched Koyaanisqatsi which is in a similar vein to that fine experience known as Baruka but different; this time instead of just letting the images and sound wash over me and catching snippets of cultures, themes and ideas from the film I found myself extracting the ideas from the related sections of the film, it was a story without words in part, although I didn't fully grasp it all and lost the thread about halfway through, but there were definate concepts being described and ideas being given, the four elements, the lives of different animals - there was a lot to extract or look for or even make from your own mind. Different in a lot of ways to Baruka I think Koyaanisqatsi requires more thought to watch it, in a way, to extract the ideas or story within rather than the sensations given by the former. All in all, a fine film experience.
Finished the evening with the portishead live concert, I must have this DVD the whole sound, experience and setup for the production is simply wonderful - plus they're one of my favourite bands. Had a brief interesting discussion regarding their failure to produce more than two albums, "peak then end" I think was the comment, no burning out, no fading away. A new way to take things...?
