robinbloke: (It's in there somewhere)
The sound started as a distant wave on a forgotten shore
The stars were watching as it rose above the silence
It passed by the waves and over the coast
Harking back to the oceans distant roots
Flowing like a ripple is moved further and further
Gaining in volume, in strength, in tone
A shaking bass note that made the body tremble
A forgotten note for a long lost land

Past the mountains, shrouded in mist
Over the ice caps and up into the sky
Eagles turned in thermals as it passed them by
Eyes turned upwards as it roared through the air
Free like a bird and alive as the world
A glowing, roaring feeling as much as sound itself
Out of earshot it was lost to memories

So it's Friday, which practically makes it the weekend.
Pause the clock a moment and wonder what I did this week.

I braved the mighty legions of the oppressors, cutting swathes through their endless lines of tyranny and confusion. Two people came to my rescue when they heard me call - strangers I'd never met but they were both helpful and friendly. Then they were gone and I'll likely never hear me again. Generosity that reminds me once again to always be ready to aid strangers myself.
The foes vanquished I sent a missive away to Her Majesty, for which I am sure I will receive a swift reply. She is so busy these days she rarely takes the time for a personal reply, but I know in my case she'll make the exception - I've heard it said that for my duties against the hordes I may well be knighted.
Naturally I am an accomplished jouster, and my valiant steed takes me wherever I need swiftly and in style. He has survived many a scrape and battle and come through, with a few scars, but still just as strong. So my qualifications for Knighthood are strong.

At court I defied the tradition of minimalist dress and came in great swathes of splendour and pomp. Eyes turned, people whispered, rumours flew and heads turned to my display. New friends were made from connections that stretched back to the dark time, well before I had first attended the court. I shall certainly attend court in this fashion again, but for now I return to the normal garb of day to day fashion, so that the others might be able to shine in my place - a gentleman never outstays his glory and gives others opportunity to as well.

In short I have battled dragons, sang songs of serenity and love, calculated problems beyond the ken of many a wise man and entertained, hosted and served my fellow courtiers in my own castle.

The week has been adventurous indeed.

Colleague: Any compelling reason to have a team meeting this afternoon?
Me: Well, I could use some sleep.
Colleague 2: You mean you didn't get enough at this mornings meeting?
Colleague: I'll take that as no reason then.
Me: Excellent meeting.
Colleague: I'll have someone who attended it write it up.
