To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run whew the brave dare not go

To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are to weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest, to follow the star
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To fight for the right, without question or pause
To be willing to pass into hell for a heavenly cause
And I know, if I'll only be true to the glorious quest

That my heart lies peaceful and calm
When IÕm laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last once of courage
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest, to follow the star
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To fight for the right , without question or pause

And to dream the impossible dream
The impossible dream
The impossible dream
The impossible

It's from the Man of La Mancha, a musical about Don Quixote.

Probably more than you wanted. I am the opposite of anally retentive . . which is quite disturbing if you think about it.

the thought certainly scares me

but then again my mind is susceptible to bizarre things due to me having been working for 3 hours so far
on a godamned asp / xml script that runs quite happily on one system but yet not another one

guess which one it needs to work on..

Same version of compiler/interpreter/whatever on both systems?

Ja

both IIS 5 patched to same level
and yes I have done the proxycfg to allow the server to server XML to work ;o)

It's verbose, archaic, messy and ill-structured.

pah philistine

ye know not of what thee speak

and verbose is good when debugging ;o)

I did C*BOL for my CS Degree. I hated it.

One of my final papers was a joint F77/C*BOL paper; I did the F77 questions then drew a giant fish in the C*BOL section.

Verbose isn't good for debugging; concise and clear is...

LOL

*shrug* I liked it

then again it prob cause i could just sit and write it without thinking too much

at college it was certainly preferable to p**cal *shudder*

ah well its all gone out here in the real world anywayz

I didn't actually mind P**cal (deleted for your sanity) structured, function based and very Basic-like, which was from what I originated, code wise.

Now I wouldn't likely use anything but C++.

ahhh c++ now I can do that

tho being a web(ish) and voice bod these days is all VB , ASP, XML
type stuff fer me these days

VB I haven't touched properly in years; XML I haven't seriously looked at, although I know HTML fairly well, Java I can manage (if my damn 50 quid book hadn't vanished) and javascript some basics.
ASP? No chance.

if you can manage all those then asp = no probs really

tho its my language of necessity not choice :o)

My colleague next to me has been using it, it looks fairly easy from what little I've seen, fairly nifty tho'...
