...after years of trouble free running across umpteen versions of ICQ I finally hit a snag when it decided I needed a password, after several attempts to enter it I sent off a request for my password - which it returned saying Your password is : ie, nothing. Which you can't enter as a password.
Confused? Well maybe a little more than usual.

Hypothesis: their password DB has gone "ploink". So, when it asks for it on auth to compare against, or looks it up to send it to you, it gets a NUL, which it don't like.

This was my thought; but I sent them a polite query regarding my status, I don't use ICQ that much anyway.
