Sugar

Today, I endevour to describe that most holy of feelings, the sugar rush.

Like being drunk, sugar rushes have basic levels, if you're a hardcore sugar addict like myself you tend to find the world is a little bit greyer without it, and get somewhat morose and down. This is easily solved by eating sugar. The guide includes my average intake to achieve these levels...

1. No sugar whatsoever.
This is bad, life is not at all bouncy.
2. Some sugar.
A couple of cubes, yeah... the world perks up a bit, the sky seems a little brighter and mood upswing begins. This is probably as much sugar as any self respecting goth should ever take, or they'll be in danger of smiling.
3. Fistful of pixie sticks
Several pixie sticks later and the world is definately brighter now, your heart has decided that you're actually in a race of some kind and your veins are beginning the happy carbohydrate hum, the world is beginning to look like it's going in slow motion, you are definately in the mood upswing now.
4. Half a 500g of dairy milk
Wow! I can see colours. Everything seems to have taken a slight swing to the brighter colours in life, you have trouble sitting still for more than thirty seconds, you tend to bounce in your seat and hum, the world is passing you by like Jello. Ahhhhh
5. Half a 500g bar, two dozen pixie sticks and a full bottle of lucazade
My god, it's full of stars. Motionlessness is NOT an option, the world is almost stationary, concentration is nil, bouncyness is mandatory, you are disturbingly upbeat, nothing gets you down at all. The world is only rosy and bright, everyone else should be happy too! Make sure you encourage this!
6. The semi-mythical ultra sugared level; A bar of belgium chocolate, twenty pixie sticks, three bottles of lucazade, 3 packs of fruit pastells and about three lines of sherbert (approx).
The world is your wossname, every second ticks past like the static reality it is, but paradoxically nothing seems to last more than a second, concentration is impossible, if someone could keep you on the same spot they could use you as a jackhammer, you sing, laugh and beam like the sugar-tainted lunatic you most assuredly are. Welcome to my world.
