Righty, an attempt at a write up before it all becomes a blur, some of this may well be in the wrong order, but I blame alcohol, a hazy bouncy sugar rush and my diabolical memory.

Thursday
A pleasant drive up, with [livejournal.com profile] razornet, [livejournal.com profile] zotz and [livejournal.com profile] vyvyan much reading and suddenly, out the side of the car we see a strange sight, is it a bird, is it a plane... no it's a hill! A strange sight indeed for someone from Cambridgeshire, but I'm sure it wasn't an illusion of any kind. Anyway, getting to the house was fairly easy, driving through Whitby we find that the place has mysteriously been invaded by loads of long haired black-clad individuals, several calls of 'bloody goths' and 'get your hair cut' are shouted out the window and we eventually find the house, a short pause and the keys arrive. Inside it looked quite cosy, if somewhat small - still I can sleep on the floor fairly happily if need be. This done we head off to the pub to find several dubious looking goth types from Cambridge have taken over a corner, much beer follows and several strange Cammies come in, argh! It's [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona, [livejournal.com profile] hyperabi and [livejournal.com profile] borusa conversation managed to survive in a non-cam form much to my relief and I pootled back with them and crashed over theirs on a comfy sofa after a long insightful chat with [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona.

Friday
Battle of the bands and shopping time! We head in after cheese on toast (mmmm) and find... Shiney things!! shiney things everywhere! I restrain my credit card and only buy 4 CD's and a new pair of trousers which look quite nifty then ooo and ahhh over various things; then to the pub and eventually out to the spa for some music, I foolishly decide to wear my chainmail for the evening (which I'd dragged up) but it was worth it, even after excessive bouncing I was exceedingly exhausted and everything faded to grey.

Saturday
I'm awake, I'm awake, I'm awake, no I'm not...
Crawl out and pootle around a bit, have a look around Whitby and at the general layout and... the pub, I begin to get into a ho-hum the pub feeling as I really get bored with just hanging around in a pub for hours on end.. but the evening approaches and named bands! I put on some considerably lighter clothes, ahhhh, bliss. My feet still complain however that they will loathe me forever. Much bouncingness ensues as Manuscript do an awesome cover of Falco's 'Rock me adadeus' and then Paradise Lost come on and I bounce myself silly in front of the speaker which results in my ears ringing for the next day or so. But it was worth it, especially as they played my fav. song of theirs as their final encore. Excellent.

Sunday
General cheese evening yay! Nothing else really sticks except a bit of pixie crack distribution and then... to the cheese night, annoyingly I couldn't find my Carter USM T-Shirt at home and so, grunge black it is, but I bounce like I've possibly never bounced before; Conga, sing sherriff fatman at the top of my lungs, bounce like a looney to 2 Tribes, jump into a mosh pit for Nelly the Elephant (where my glasses got slightly squashed even through they were in my pocket - must remember contacts dammit!) and had a great great time - definately the best evening out of all, only about 3 songs I didn't immediately recognise, and I bounced for most of them, yay! Loads of people I knew there, too many to list or remember. The weekend was worth it for only this if nothing else! Potter back to a mini-party where I flake out early and stagger home via the cliffs watching the sea and listening to it on a pretty damn clear night, clearing my head as a result - could have stared at it for hours but really needed some sleep.

Monday
Somewhat of a flat day, visited the abbey and got some good photos and played hunt the gravestone (1804 was my record) the pub loomed, which I was getting a bit jaded with by now, and then off to a somewhat pants beach party, so instead we collected chinese (not bad) and pootled back for a sit in drinking sess, which wasn't so bad at all, although I was too wasted to contribute much meaningful conversation by that point.

Tuesday
Home! A nice drive back again where I finish another book I'd picked up in Whitby by Simon R. Green, a fantasy book, short and sweet, not too bad.

Highlights and flashbacks
* Finally finishing the cryptomonicron, huge excellent tome.
* Quotes "Got enough rizlas?" ~ various "Lets go tart!" ~ random goth
* Bouncing insanely at the cheese night
* So many CD's!
* Making loadsa new friends and tarting a bit
* Bouncing
* The sea, whoa! Such a wonderful sound and sight
* It didn't bloody rain hardly at all! YAY!

Going again? You betcha! More books next time I think, something to do in the pub ;)
