Take responsibility for the IT infrastructure of the software development group.
DETAILED ACTIVITIES Ensuring that all software engineers have access to the IT resources that they require. Includes software packages, access to servers and company networks. Split between PC and Unix support will be approximately 90/10. Support for the software development toolset. This may involve developing small-scale PC based utilities. Liase with the central IT department where there is an overlap in responsibilities. Ensure that all software PCs have properly installed and licensed software. Ensure that the software PCs/servers are used in accordance with the Company IT policy. Administer access and user accounts. Administration of the software specific development tools, including editors, version control, configuration management, compilers and debuggers. Manage the support contracts with software tool vendors. Manage the migration of system hardware to newer operating systems and platforms. Specifically the move from Windows 95 to Windows 2000 and from Unix to PC. General maintenance and upkeep of the software group’s PCs. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

At least 2 years relevant experience of supporting / using software development tools for real-time /embedded and to a lesser extent PC software design:.
