Happy happy joy joy.

Which gives you roughly what you had under the old system?

From: [identity profile] robinbloke.livejournal.com
Yep, just 5 pxp more than I was entitled to in the old system.

Where can I find a copy of the current draft? I really should start familiarising myself with this whole member class thing.

On UK-G I think, or tell me your email and I'll send it.

I looked on UKG and couldn't find it.

Mailing it to teknostatik@hotmail.com would be great.

Thanks :-)

I've read it. Most interesting, and a bureaucratic nightmare.

Especially if everything is being calculated retroactivly, which it has to be. I'm having enough problems calculating mine - let alone anyone elses.

Ah, It's ok. I don't track my own - that honour falls to our wonderful RC. ;-)

But I have a horrible feeling that I'm not going to be eligible to play one of my Vampire characters now. Depends very much on if they're tying Gen in with MC.

It implies they are, from Appendix C.

Oh yes, I hadn't got that far.

But it's fine.

*sigh of relief*

I can still keep my secodary.

I now have a dilemma though. Do I create my new character now, or wait until MC comes in? Because it will make a big difference, and I'm somewhat worried about being accused of waiting to create it in order to benefit from having more points to spend. On the other hand, if I create it now, it could be said that the person administering the new system has so little faith in it that they rush through a character under the old system. I can't win really. ;-)

Dave mentioned at the last Cambridge game that apparently And R hasn't allowed new prestige characters be created until the new system comes in or something like that.

Oh aye? Some kind of announcement about that would be nice...

I only know what Dave mentioned. I assume it referred to higher up Prestige ppl. as well, maybe not lowly D officers...

Then again, when have we ever had proper communication from top? :o/

Well that sorts that out then.

Thanks :-)

I'm in a similar position, having currently just lost a character (Well, GAT probably ought to duck out for a bit so he's retiring for a few decades).
I'll just use whatever system is there when I finish my background.

My background has been sent for approval, so I'll wait until I'm told it's playable, and then create it using whatever system is in place.

I don't think anyone can complain about that.

Sounds fair to me guv. But then I'm not ANST/RST/Whatever...

I think there was a mention somewhere that nobody would lose any characters.
I would sincerely hope so.

Damn you and your national/global jobs ;o)
I'll probably be lucky if I get MC4, especially as I won't be DST anymore when the system comes in, which means I lose the loan (which sooo sucks, officer prestige should be a reward each month/year in office, not a pile put on top and removed again).

You've got my CV, can you do a draft for me as well and mail the result to me, please?

Cheers!

Those jobs didn't really contribute that much...

Did you remember to put in every time you gave someone a lift? I just gestimated and put '20' which over 2 and something years is probably conservative considering the number of times I've been taxi-man... you as well.
Not to mention lodging at the fantastic hotel del langridge (ahem) just put 12 for that.

Cheese it!

I'll work it out tonight for you.

Date: 2002-02-25 04:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com
Yep, I put in "gave lifts to all and sundry to pretty much every game I attended". Let's say one away game per month, makes 12 a year, times 3 is 36.
I'll probably be collecting receipts soon so I have proof...

Erm, I won't cheese it, you know me.
If you think I deserve stuff for other things I've done, you're the DC, put it in.

Okey dokey

The "cheese it!" was actually a bender quote ;)

I now have Futurama series one on dvd :)

How do you work out Prestige for "spend 12 hours in the kitchen during the Changeling National 2001"?

Date: 2002-02-25 04:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] robinbloke.livejournal.com
Easy

"Volunteering for an event help force 5 / hour (max 25 / event)"
= 25

Oh dear, I'm already getting the hang of this :(

Date: 2002-02-25 04:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com
Surely this is per day?
Otherwise someone volunteering all evening at a normal game could get as much as someopne doing a multiple day event.

Easy way out

It's simple, Ozzy: you write your Cam CV with everything you think might deserve recognition, and the Coordinator chain (ie: Robin) totals it all up, deciding on appropriate values for those things that are not covered in the Points list. So, just leave it all in the capable hands of your DC, it's then his responsibility.

Hi, Robin. :-)

Date: 2002-02-25 06:30 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] robinbloke.livejournal.com
It would appear not; one of the things that should probably be clarified. All limits are 'per event'

Poo!

Date: 2002-02-25 06:41 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com
It better be. Normal events are only one evening.

One more on the Cons list. Next time I'll only do 5 hours, not 12... :oP

However, at least it'll be National Prestige.

Indeedy. In any case the very most you'd get for it would be (in this system) 50, as thats the max for 1 month for that type of prestige.

The next question is, if you drive someone to a national event and they stay over your house afterwards - is that national prestige?

I was bored at work and decided to work it out to see where I'd be valued compared to where I am now.

I won't ask how you know about the nun.

It was an experiment.

I come out 9/10

11 if you're generous.

I'd still rather crush my balls in a vice than use MC.

How many LJs did you post this in? This is at least the second time I've seen you advocate boycott. I'm starting to wait for the Kilroy was Here jokes to hit. :)

That isn't a boycott call, though I do support rejection by non-cooperation.
