Thought for the day: from [livejournal.com profile] jonnyargles

Demonising White Wolf into a form of Taliban with NHS glasses and rock band tour shirts who want to wrest control of the Camarilla helps no-one. So long
as they don't interfere with the chronicle, who cares? They're not going to
turn around and say, "Hey, we order you all to use mob rules 5.1" because of
the Golden Rule - don't like it? Change it. Personally, I think they're tired of the fractious arguing, which is frankly giving their creation a bad name, and want to make sure that MET is something to be proud of, which helps their sales, and helps our membership base. The only people who have reason to be worried are the BoD themselves; who might get bumped down the hierarchy a step, but otherwise things'll carry on the same. What's the matter, folks; been embezzling funds?

Hmmm, valid... I suspect I have just made the kind of knee-jerk reaction that I've always hated everyone else making
smack
Time to go away and think about this, after all I keep telling myself to avoid the OOC crud and just play the games, thats what its about in the end.

Bad Robin, bad.

I can see one problem with sticking to 'their' chronicle. Wraith. We have been allowed to make space for a Wraith game in our chronicle, as it is a venue that is developing rapidly, with a small, enthusiastic player base, and is really really interesting, particularly to people who want close, personal games.
And if we go to WW canon then we can't have Wraith. And all the hard work of people like Neil & Ben, like the US ICC team, will be wasted.
I'm going to take this opportunity to put in a shameless plug for Reading Wraith, on the 3rd of Jan, at the Abbey Gateway in Reading. Try the game before we maybe lose the opportunity to run it.

Tempting, but I suspect I'll be in peterborough again, getting my character in torpor (again).

They'll still keep Wraith as an option, just won't be printing any sourcebooks. The WW Canon doesn't say, 'oh, and by the way, all the Underworld suddenly ceased to exist,' there are basic rules still for Wraiths in the other venues, including Hunter, and if we want to build Wraith, they might even release out of print information and supplements - once their warehouses are empty, that is.

Precisely. WW have not removed Wraith or Oblivion from the Chronical. Merely de-focused them.

In fact, it frees up the venue to do exactly whatever the hell it likes!
It also accounts for the scattered few and far between wraith games.

Maelstrom = good thing!
