The spider dropped slowly down it's silken thread to land on the motionless eyelid that formed the bottom of it's web. It was early morning, and the first hints of warmth from the sunrise had just begun to flow out over the meadow where the spider was making it's snare. Little legs dancing the spider secured the silken strand and moved easily up to spin a second loop out and around the circle it had already made.
Dew was hanging like jeweled teardrops from the strands as they hung from the web, the spider was far too busy to admire them however, it had work to do, but as it slid down the second anchor it was woven the whole web began to shake as the eye flickered and opened.
Alarmed the spider retreated back to the grass as suddenly it's whole web was torn to shreds as the man who it had been using as the bottom anchoring point for its web sat up.
