I'm being stalked by cats.

Now I'm not exactly the worlds greatest cat lover, hell I'm not even the worlds smallest cat lover; I'm usually fairly ambivalent about the creatures - they individually have to make themselves appealing to me rather than me instantly cooing at one of the furry beasties and going all gooey eyed over them.

Dogs are different of course, I identify with them and they quite often go out of their way to come over to me for a fuss, I have good hound-empathy.

Cats and me don't have this connection. This hasn't stopped the local cat population around my house having some kind of bet on to see which of them can make me 'adopt' them first and believe me they're trying. The first one, a raven black moggie, was slowly working its way from my flowerbed to my doorstop in steady increments every time I saw it, it even dashed into my house (probably from distant cheers and whooping noises from the other cats) for a moment before I let out an "Oi!" and it ran outside again, probably earning itself a load of cat kudos for doing so. This one did however make the fatal mistake of lurking on my doorstep when I didn't have the outside light on and I was stumbling back at 2 am from a club not really at all awake, with the result I accidentally hoofed it. I felt rather guilty for that, but I haven't seen it since.

Now the new cat is trying instead, a black/grey coloured one that has obviously decided that my doorstep is some kind of danger zone as it was lurking in my garage this morning, now I'd left the door open all day yesterday by mistake but shut it last night, so it was there this morning sat near my bike with a "well it took you long enough" expression on its face. Maybe it will give up now as well and contender no.3 will give it a go...

I had to buy it from the US; didn't know you sold it.

That T-Shirt rocks; I leant it to a friend when he visited Tokyo. :)

Years ago, when my landpeople (is there are cumulative nounc for landlord and landlady?) were here, they used to feed a neighborhood ginger, who was sometimes waiting on the outside doorstep in the morning and evenings even after they left for Germany again (usually about a week until she realised whe wouldn't get fed anymore). She managed once or twice to get into the house with me but was promptly extracted again. Until one morning, when I was in a particular hurry, didn't look where I was going as I was leaving the house and stepped on her. She was gone like lighting and avoided me ever since then until she died...

We used to have several cats laying claim to our garden, even had two scrapping in it once.

We found the cure though, his name is Pippin. :o)

We probably didn't at the time. I'm actually in the process of sorting of a distribution deal for the entire range for the UK.

I'd like a hound but I'd feel rotten about leaving him during the day :(

Probably similar reason why the black one is avoiding me ;)

That's one of the reasons why we got a lab, he sleeps through most of the day and as Vicky doesn't live far from work she was able to pop home at lunchtime for him.

He soon adapted to his routine, and he's so used to it now, we can be playing with him at a time when we'd normally put him in his bed and he'll leave the play and just go and sit in his bed waiting for us to shut the door. :o)

He is and we are indeed. :o)

His injury has highlighted to us how well behaved he is too as there's been no attempt to chew on or scratch the stitches.

Well that just shows what good parents you are :)

Was worried about the little chap when Vicky said about his injury, but good to hear he's doing well.

Aw, poor Anvil would be heart-broken, if he was still with us, stupid moggy that he was.

Awww there are exceptions, Anvil was one. He was wonderfully dim.
