Or at least it's on the way out as my other pc ('wibble') is dying a death which means it's time for one generation to pass to the next and the most important question of all has to be asked about my new system...

[Poll #403086]

However, advice on systems and especially graphics cards is welcomed :)

Good choice, and it looks like PCI-E AMD motherboards are just starting to appear too.

I have an AMD 1800+ at the moment, that will become my media machine.

Ah, wasn't sure about the motherboard with regards to PCI-E and SATA when I spec'ed a price.

Aha. I'll hang on for MESH to get one of those in their BYO range then.

Yeah, definitely AMD. 3500+ sounds like a good idea, check it is a nice cool 90nm version though.

I'd definitely get a PCIe based system. nVidia nForce4 based seems a good choice at the moment. Therefore you'll need a nice PCIe based graphics card - depends on how much power you want. ATI X800 or nVidia 6x00 ... touch choice!

Oh, and Seagate hard drive, with a 5 year warranty :)

The small, sad part of my brain wants me to tell you that it's spelt 'Salt n Pepa'.

There. I hope it's happy now.

Yeah, just noticed this; may have to delay until one is actually out so I can get myself a decent graphics card, bah.

As [livejournal.com profile] mobbsy has pointed out, there aren't any 939 MB systems with PCIe yet, they're close but not yet.
Bah.
