Driving into town for lunch (for my contact lens appointment, yes now you too have an insight to the excitement that is my lunchtimes, rejoice) in my car I espied a rabbit in the road up ahead.
Now this wasn't your average little farmyard sideroad where bunnies frantically fling themselves across twelve feet of potential high speed vehicular death, oh no, this was the A14. A road that is renowned for being busy, overcrowded and usually with at least one accident a Friday.
Anyway, the bunny obviously didn't look too well and I'm pretty sure it had mixy, which is a not a pleasant thing at all. It managed two hops as the cars swerved around it (including myself may I add) and continued to sit there. In the middle of the road.
Now this rabbit had to know about the road, hardly a few seconds passes before a car would race down the road, and since it was a good halfway across a fairly wide sliproad I'm thinking it was quite possible the poor thing had been driven half mad by mixy and run out into the road with the sole intention to end it all, since it clearly wasn't interested in leaving the road.
This rather chilling little mind-bite was further compounded when on the way home almost virtually opposite where the rabbit was (is? I couldn't see it because of the barrier) a guy on a green motorbike had come off and was laying on his back, obviously in some kind of trouble as he wasn't up and there was a small cluster of people around him. His arms were moving at least.

Tangentially...
My dad has this uncanny ability to point out things that he had no right at all to notice when driving.
"You see behind that cloud, the aircraft?" "Um, no dad, please watch the road."
I'm beginning to do the same

Your Dad wasn't a pilot was he? I was taught by the RAF to always maintain a lookout for any aircraft that could be coming close to me. I say "taught" However, the instructors made full use of the repetetitve cranial percusive technique to make sure you were scanning all around. I still find that I do it when I'm driving a car. You never know when you're going to be bounced by a bogie out of the sun!

He did some flying in the ATC but thats about it; it's not just aircraft however; cars, unusual trees, buildings, random things everywhere.

That's what clouds are for - they make the lookout interesting!
"Oh look that cloud looks just like a 757!"

Spooky. We had a rabbit that wouldn't leave the road too.

Ouch :( I definately saw this one hop however, it's face didn't look too good, all puffy and mixy.
