Revenge of the Turkey

My ceiling is cracked, again.

The turkeys are restless it seems.

Or rather, the infamous turkey incident has returned to haunt me; the sealing around the bath, it seems, has also perished and this morning after a nice long refreshing shower I found that it had managed to finally work it's way through the seal and onto the floor of my living room again.

Joy.

And I still haven't found the other annoying leak thats been there since I moved in.

Turkeys are evil, nasty things that only come to play when its christmas, however their legacy last longer. Rebel and change the turkey to chicken :-). Sorry about it, if there is anything I can do to help let me know.

Some houses attract electricity and the lights go bang all the time even if you have the place re-wired. Some attract water and things leak no matter how much or often you apply sealing or replace the bath or even if you have the bath removed and a shower installed in its place.

Is it the penguins calling the sea?

If you can invent a leak detection device, that'd be great ;)

If you can get into the floor, cobalt chloride paper will detect water in the air or as a spray when you hold it near the leak.

Hope it's not too hard to fix :(

I think buying a cheap used house is much like buying a cheap used car. You don't pay as much up front but you'll need more for upkeep and constant repairs.

If you're willing to invest, a complete new bathroom job might be an idea: Tiles on the floors and at least halfway up the walls with the bathtub sealed in should keep most of the water in. Same in the bog and while you're at it, get a new toilet as well.
