[livejournal.com profile] robinbloke in "failing to resist" shock!

[how legal are bb guns, and what do you use them for?]

They're legal and erm, I use them for going 'oooo look, it's shiney.'

sad, but true.

BB guns are legal (over 16 to buy methinks) and can be used for target shooting, BB-wars (hehe!) and scaring off pests (ie, cats, rats, rabbits, pidgeons etc).

Have to say not impressed though Robin...

looks fairly plastic and not very robust, its not a great price as it is (not bad, you'll struggle to find a similar price from somewhere you'll get a guarantee and support from) and i just plain don't like that particular weapon.

Well, guess I'll see; I couldn't find one anywhere else for a better price and it is my favourite rifle.
I can't remember what your rifle of choice was? I seem to remember it might have *just* been from a certain tumbleweed era however...

Rifle or long arm? I like a lot of the western weapons, if i had to choose modern i'd either want something small (some version of the rugged H&K MP5 most likely) or something rugged like the SLR

Not sure for BBs though, there is a small and experimental rifle/SMG which is sooooo sweet my mate has that i loved the look of - very future soldier and stuff, but kinda menacing and really ace too

The MP5K is a cut down version of the classic, but thats an SMG really; I think a pulse rifle (ala Aliens) would look rather nifty as well :)
The SLR was a nifty weapon, plus it didn't shake itself apart like the SA80.

Oh yes, the MP5K is so..nice. Its just right - lethal and small and..perfectly designed. The MP5 SD6 has a certain charm too.

There are a number of squaddies who would happily put up with the long and heavy SLR, its reliable, fires a heavier [man-stopping] round and is far more of a visual threat too ;)

That plus it makes an effective club without breaking, unlike the SA80 ;)

Not seen the SD6 variant of the MP5, wossit?

never mind club - stick a bayonet on it and call it a spear ;)

SD6 has the sound-suppressor, its longer [about 6 inches or so] and looks meaty, like an assualt rifle rather than an SMG...nice weapon :)

Ah the SA80, that would be the very real gun with the very real bullets that would have made very real holes in me if memory serves.
Guess that's what you get for being a suspected terrorist innit!
But then I've bored you all with that story before.

While you're spending money
