On a simple level, yes
1) They are short
2) They make 'cute' sounds
3) They are amusing

But, on a more important level, no.
1) They are a bit crap in a fight
2) They run away
3) They dont use your helmet (with contents still inside) as bongos
4) You dont go 'oh dear, I'd going to die!' if you ever spot them
5) No death traps

Dunno what it's meant to be; but the comments about software by the ships' AI and stuff seemed to imply a robot. Could be a cyborg, it's certainly not just human thats for sure!

Cyborg, officially. Approximately 20% machine, and the only Spartan to reach Halo, possibly the only Spartan still alive.
