I have a mouse in my kitchen; I'm feeding it mini shredded wheats until I can get a humane mousetrap.
Tempted to keep it after I catch it tho', I miss my rats.

When we had a mouse or was it a herd of elephants truddling over the ceilings?, decide to move in. Tessy, my poor cat got put on short rations until it was caught, we found 3 presented on the doorstep intact a few days later.

She was remarkably happy about being presented with a complete tin of cat food that night.

Don't keep it as a pet, it will be scared all the time. And a wild mouse is never going to be the same as a domesticated rat.

My sister domesticated a baby mouse that one of her cats caught once. It lived for two years, which is pretty long for a mouse, and seemed to be very happy.

Mum's old cat once brought in a mouse that she kept; it semeed perfectly content to be fed frequently & kept warm & safe.

But mouse urine contains salmonella, or so my aunt was told when her house got infested, so possibly the kitchen isn't the best place to feed it...
