My mouse pointer is trying to hypnotise me. And I know this time it's not a conspiracy by my eyeballs to make my brain think that I'm mad because other people have seen it too. Every now and then, just when I'm half concentrating on something else my mouse pointer will shimmer with some colour. Now, I know what you're thinking (Buhahaha, mind reading laser-pointing cuddly toys strike again!) "It's part of the mouse's animation set, the busy icon.” But oh-no-no my friend, not this time. I checked the entire animation set for the mouse, twice. And is "Small suspicious shimmery effect" in there? Ohhh no, not even slightly, oh no Gollum!
So, what could it be? What insidious program or routine has invaded my PC and infected my mouse with shimmery effects, hypnotic shimmery effects. I have come to the conclusion that the barcodes are probably responsible - since I have been doing a lot of work on them lately (yes work, I do it occasionally) and I think that they have decided to rise up from the depths and claim my brain as their own once again. After I foiled their joint plan with the brain-sapping colour-synchronised smarties they needed a new way to beam static subliminal messages into my mind and program me for whatever sinister plan they have. Now I can't get around this one, I don't know how to stop it. So if I start acting strangely or lifting my arms up into the sky and crying "ALL HAIL THE GREAT CURSOR!" then you can probably guess that their plan has worked.
All that and full stops too, blimey.
