Do you ever find yourself...

Looking out the window of a moving vehicle and thinking 'Mmmm paralax scrolling'
Watching clouds and commenting on their polygon count?
Seeing shadows on the floor and wondering why they bothered to lightsource so many of them, because noone bothers looking at them
Examining trees and pondering the fractal formulas that were used to generate them

Umm... yes. Does this mean I'm beyond hope?

Nope, it just means you've played a crapload of videogames, like me. :)

Mainly I do this sort of thing in dreams, if I become aware that I'm dreaming. I become fascinated by the rendering of reality that my subconscious has created. Sometimes I pick up stones and examine them very closely, trying to determine the detail-level implemented. A problem with such investigations, unfortunately, is that I always seem to have lost my glasses in my dreams, so everything is very fuzzy anyway :-)

Some of the trees on the ring-road look far too CGI for comfort. The real problem comes when you catch a flicker of something out of the corner of your eye and write it off as a rendering artefact. That's when I generally start to worry for my sanity.

The scariest thing is that I haven't really played computer games for some years now.
