Earplugs for your earwigs
Mar. 17th, 2006 09:37 amHappiness is not, as some would have you believe, a cigar called hamlet. It's on demand music. It's convenience. It's reality given shape and form to your desires. At least as I see it.
As for each and every one of us everything we 'want' to happen at a given moment defines our satisfaction1 of that moment, event, time, etc.
So in building the environment around us having everything more and more as 'we' want it is one small step towards making and shaping the world to be as we personally want it to be2.
Which brings me back to music. Music in my head to be exact, my life soundtrack has few pauses, but there is little more satisfying3 than having that tune in your head and having it on your mp3 player. Thus being able to sit down, 'phone up and listen to said track and drift into the rest of the album.
Houses? They're the slice of reality we make our own. They're the eye of our own mind that we're making reality in order that our cave is decorated with the right wall paintings.
Ah, next track.
1 Satisfaction? Now it's a consumer process. Well we are all consumers, apparently, feedback forms of life waiting to be processed. Please allow 28 days for delivery.
2 Pretty self evident really as revelations go frankly, but what do expect on a Friday morning? Sonnets? Equations to unify the universe? Small dancing shoes on musical ladybugs? Answers on a postcard.
3 At least, little more satisfying that you can do at work, in public, with all your clothes on and not get fired.
