Sep. 27th, 2004 11:14 amWhen does science fiction become science fact?
Can you remember something that changed your views about the world from an event from something otherwise might have passed you by?
For me, recently, the JPEG buffer overflow was one such thing. It is now possible to look at a picture and damage your computer, which I never thought would happen. But due to the nature of Microsoft’s leaky code a toolkit is now available for even the most hapless hackers to exploit this problem.
I've also noticed I'm posting a lot less now; maybe it's just because I've got a lot of the cr@p out of my system now and the day to day activities of myself (lunch for today is boiled egg sandwich with white bread, trivia fans) don't seem worth posting. The more I post the less there is new for me to inflict on people. I suppose that's the chief reason why my former deluge of posts has slowed to a trickle over the top of the dam, I'm looking (more) now to just post something I find insightful or interesting... Or even just markers in my mind when they crop up to wave and the sundry collection of vagabonds who hand around my brainspace.
