Feelings falling like raindrops
Jul. 16th, 2004 10:25 amHere comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
I love the rain, I always feel so refreshed after a good thunderstorm or when I'm standing with the rain falling all around me.
Summer is the best time for rain, it's too hot (read anything approaching 20 degrees or warmer as 'too hot' for me, I am a penguin after all) and the rain refreshes you. The grass smells fresh and the scents of the world around you are so sharp and clear, it's even easier to hear things, I swear.
Sunny weather is nice, I suppose. The warm glow on your skin can be very nice, a faint warming feeling. But it doesn't beat the pitter-patter of rain around me, the curl and chaos of water coming down a window, the quiet drumming on the window when you're waking up on a lazy morning. The millions of explosions in a puddle. The wall of water falling all around you as you hold up your umbrella.
Through the window I just caught the scent of the ground fresh after the rainstorm that just rolled over us.
