Rah, The Jareth Masquerade was great.
Ok, how was it? Hmmm, how about "Fan-fuckin'-tastic". It was, basically, a Trad goths evening of doom. There were live bands, music by a DJ that had been stolen from a goth club (He played switchblade, the sisters, cheesy 80's and ended with a semi-EBM mini-set) and costumes, lots of costumes. Some were sniggerable, some were amazing, but most were obvious that people had made a hell of an effort - so much tradness and fairyness and stuff. No beer - but this stopped the drunken idiot factor so in the end it was a good idea I think. There was original artwork shows, a stage show to music that was simply wow. Several people dressed as characters from the ballroom scene (and, surprisingly, only two Jareths - both quite good) dresses that most goth women would happily maim for; tailcoats and outfits that goth blokes would as well. Lots of photos take, sadly at only 1M pixels as I forgot my camera reset at medium res mode, grrr, still they should be good.
Tired now, still a bit drained from random timezone flipping, off to a L5R LRP game this evening (playing a scorpian, rah!) which should be interesting, hopefully catch LXG afterwards.
