Fading into grey memories
Apr. 22nd, 2003 09:46 amMore pizza than you can shake a stick at, some of the best LRP's I've ever been in, organisation to make me shudder and meeting with friends I've not seen in years. That was GenCon for me.
The event itself showed that it was basically revolving around card games, the whole first floor being filled with (hold your nose!) gamers in row after row with a bazillion million cards. Next floor up were the traders who had a few things of spiffness, including an appearance of the hallowed Steve Jackson himself (not worthy! not worthy!) who I had sign an early copy of The Warlock of Firetop mountain for me! Yay!
Saturday was a blast the vampire C/A game I had a crimelordy type character to play, who after a quick trip to a nearby costume shop (where I also managed to get a fantastic jester's mask) I got some rough outfit for a character that was a cross between Arthur Daily, the Spiv from Dad's Army and Ali G; I don't think I've ever swore as much in my life, but the character was a blast, great great fun... but after the game... rocky horror! Rocky Rocky Rah Rah Rah! Which was just fantastic, even if I did get a wee bit tipsy, but who cares, not meeeee!
Ahem.
Oh ar, also bumped into some old LARP buddies and reminissed, as well as played Dungeoneer, which is a nifty little card game - which I won twice, buahahah. ahem.
Sunday brought the thrills and spills of Hurah for St. Custards I don't think I've laughed so much in my life,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
davywavy is simply a genius of game writing, descriptions simply can't do the game justice, all the players were just wonderous, the people playing the alien invaders for me were just stars, but everyone was great. By the end of it my face hurt from laughing.
All in all, gencon admin sucked, LRP rocked, and the weekend was great!
