My life and other delusions
Aug. 27th, 2002 09:16 amWell that'd be the title of my autobiography at least.
Great weekend all round, woot and yay and other such highly meaningful words, oh yes.
Friday - reaffirmed my semi-transformation into a sluglike lifeform as I did basically nothing and managed to regress several thousand years of evolution in just a single evening, forward cranium not quite jutting out yet however but I have an increasing desire to saw "Oooga Booga" and wave a spear around. Note to self, must avoid next door neighbours T-Rex.
Saturday - a grand day out! Went off to London with my fine compatriot, Phil, by way of celebrating his annual day of birthing celebration - we burned wicker men full of screaming chickens as sacrifices in my day, but there you go. First stop was the London science museum, which was happily free (one thing at least the government has done right) much interesting stuff and, most interesting of all I thought a collection of semi-random mechandising (chopper bikes, cameras, pictures, bronchil pipes) through the ages from the 1890's to the present day - very scarey in a way to see how things had developed...
IMAX also, IMAX, hmmm, theres not a good way to describe IMAX, if I said "Full colour massive screen 3D vision with an awesome sound system" it's like describing the crown jewels as "sorta pretty", it simply doesn't do it justice. If you compare it in a scale...
TV --- TV + Surround --- Cinema ---------------------------- IMAX
Reality fits in there somewhere well below IMAX, believe me. Just go and see it, yes yes yes, I know you're doing something now but what kind of excuse is that, book yourself a ticket right here right now and go and see it, c'mon... move, do it, shoo!
SNAKES! The ground was covered in SNAKES! Erm, well there were some snakes anyway, this random guy was handing out snakes with every third purchase of a... well, he was letting people hold them anyway and it was great, I had this little baby boa slithering all over my arm and hand (not even a metre long) the coils feel so strange, the best description of what a snakes skin I think Phil came up with, like velvet almost, wonderful beasties.
The Eye was cool too, the day had been clear and kept so as we rolled around the ey watching everything from way way up, very impressive view indeed - something else that should be a must frankly.
All that plus other misc wonderful sights, bookstalls, steak, strange floating boasts on buggies, wierd statues, skaters, bridges, statues and huge flying monkeys... well, sadly I made the last bit up. Ah well.
Sunday, more regression towards my ultimate single celled existance, I did however achieve a gaming landmark by making the all important level 60 in Everquest, yes, I knew you'd be impressed with that one.
Erm, Monday, tidied house, DIY (need a bigger driiiilll!) discovered my claw hammer was missing (ooops!) had a party for
andrewdavies which went rather well, it didn't even rain for the BBQ! Six bags of rubbish, which was quite impressive!
Well I had a good weekend anyway :)
