Where did it all go...?
Mar. 13th, 2002 09:03 amWednesday already, nae, March, no... 2002 already, where did it all go? Time is not so much flying past like a butterfly as so much skiing past like a jet-propelled marmoset; where's it all going? 2000 has been and gone and I still don't have my flying car, world war three is stubbornly failing to happen, the world hasn't been taken over by robots, computers, mutants or martians; the next ice age has failed to emerge, no pockets of lost civalisation or hidden dinosaurs have developed, theres been no vast nano-plague that has wiped out humanity, we still haven't colonised mars, big brother has only existed as a TV show, the government has failed to start cloning experiments with everyone and their dog, beer has not become the standard genetic food of the nation, there are no 50 foot tall women stalking the earth, the Incan, Egyption and Third Reich have not risen again, there are no superheros defending new york, no terrorists have stolen the statue of liberty, supervillians have consistantly failed to hold the world hostage, I still can't buy a ticket to the moon, sharks are still not the dominant species, no inner earth has yet been discovered, the one ring hasn't been destroyed and we still haven't made contact with aliens.
